I'm living in Tucson, where also a MFA candidate in poetry at The University of Arizona, and an instructor in the Writing Program. I have taught both iterations (101, 102) of First-Year Writing, and Introduction to Poetry (209). I love writing, language, and believe the practice of writing is intrinsic to understanding ourselves, and the many-worlds we are alive in. I am increasingly interested in compositional practices. I've experimented with how film and sound act as a processing event for elucidating feelings / textures / topographies language cannot.
this inter-work (play) helps illuminate aesthetic and conceptual obstacles I can share with my students as they are learning their relationship to writing. In the classroom I emphasis the importance of process, revision, and experimentation. failure, in writing, is a necessity. I continue to investigate my experiences in terms of their humanity.
