I have bachelor's and master's degrees in Communication as well as a minor in Journalism from Missouri State University. Over the past seven years, I have taught in a classroom as well as tutored students in subjects ranging from academic writing, literature, formal grammar, public speaking, and speech writing. I am a very logical thinker and love helping students see that writing can be enjoyable, expressive, and logical all at once. My teaching style includes meeting students where they are and helping them build a bridge to where they need to be by setting incremental goals and celebrating attaining those goals. When I am not tutoring or teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family (including my husband and three sons) and pets (one dog; one cat), reading classic and detective literature, watching mainstream and indie films, and traveling.
