I have enjoyed teaching for more than 20 years because nothing is more rewarding than knowing I have helped someone understand and learn something useful.

I have taught students from age 11 all the way to adults in Master's classes. Each age group brings its own challenges and rewards and has contributed to my own growth as a teacher.

I have a B.A. in English language and literature and an M.A in TESOL (teaching English to speakers of other languages). I am a native speaker of Arabic and have lived in Spain for 4 years and studied Spanish there.

I have recently completed a certificate in technical writing.

I have taught a variety of subjects: ESL/EFL, English literature, Children's literature, Spanish, and Arabic.
I love to teach languages whether it is English, Spanish, or Arabic. Knowing how to communicate in a different language is not only fun, but it is also a door into new cultures, lands, and ideas.

My teaching philosophy is based on my belief that everyone can learn and can be taught if the resources and methodology are appropriate. If the materials are relevant to the learner and are presented in a clear and fun manner, everyone can learn. That is why any tutoring has to focus on the needs of the learner and has to be framed in a fun and useful way.

My interests are in reading, music from a variety of cultures, cooking, and friendly gatherings. I love to entertain and meet people, especially people who are open-minded and great conversational partners.
