I am a graduate of University of Maryland, Baltimore County. I received my Masters of Arts in Intercultural Communication with a focus on linguistics and digital story-telling. I worked as a Chinese mentor for the "Intercultural Living Exchange" program during my study. I also obtained my TEFL/TESOL certificate from Oxford Seminars after graduation. Since then, I have traveled to and lived in Asia for about five years, and I have been teaching English and Chinese to all different age groups. I helped to set up a Chinese program in a primary school in a small town of Thailand. I started staff business English training to coworkers while I was working in the hospitality industry in Bangkok. I was teaching and operating English language training centers for preschool children in Shanghai before I moved to Seattle. I believe culture is one of the key elements during the language acquisition process and they can not be separated. In my spare time, I enjoy indoor activities, such as yoga and video-editing. I also enjoy outdoor activities, such as hiking, traveling and playing with my camera devices.
