Mr. Widerski used to tell us adorable stories about his toddler daughter before jumping into calculus. Every lesson would start with laughter, and continue with learning. He set reasonable daily goals while giving us opportunities to exceed expectations if we had the drive to do such. I learned a lot from him.

Education nurtures the person, not just the mind, and I see that as my tutoring goal. Getting to know my students is just as important as the material at hand. Once a level of trust is established, only then can true learning occur. My whole-student education strategy adapts to match him/her where they are in their learning development. Therefore it is, intrinsically, a student-centered approach that is unique to the individual. My method is to engage the learner in the topic by making it fun in a way that can lead to a deeper understanding.

To supplement this, I give my students certain "tools" or "tricks" to assist in remembering certain processes. Their study and organizational habits are fine tuned as well to help instill in them solid, lifelong educational routines.
