Certified Tutor
I received my MFA in fiction from Eastern Washington University in 2017. Throughout my entire collegiate career, I have worked as a writing tutor in some capacity. While getting my undergraduate degree, I worked in my school's Writing Center as a lead peer tutor. I also worked as a grants writing tutor. During graduate school, I worked as the Director of a non-profit that focused on providing creative writing education to elementary-aged students.
My approach to teaching writing involves working with the student through the process of writing. I like to start with brainstorming and invention, and then work through drafting, editing, and finalizing. I believe this method allows for the full-development of ideas, and also creates the least amount of stress for the student.
I have dedicated my life to writing, and it is truly my passion. It is my goal to instill that same passion for words in my students, regardless of the writing assignment.
