I work as a consulting analyst for a DC firm. Recently, I graduated from George Mason University with an M.A. in international security. Before this, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in international studies at Old Dominion University. What interested me the most about studying international affairs was learning how to interact with others of different origins. This emphasis on relationship-building was key to crystallizing my passion of studying global politics and diplomacy. I have quite a diverse background in a variety of fields. I have expertise in history (primarily world history, European history, and American history), biology (notably cell biology), writing, international politics (or global politics), and political science.
I pride myself in building relationships with my students and found that using such a method is vital for academic success. Rote learning is not a key indicator of success. However, it does have its place in learning. More importantly, what I do stress to students is the value of formulating and strengthening critical thinking skills. These skills pay dividends in the long-run and help you be a better learner even with the most complex of subjects. All in all, I have a great passion for the arts and sciences. Moreover, I look forward to sharing this enthusiasm with the student so that I can ensure that they accomplish their goals.
