I was born in Mexico and moved to
Chicago when I was seven years old. As the years went by, I started to develop an interest in science, and my passion grew more as I saw an open heart surgery and took a problem solving class. I decided to choose biomedical engineering because of my passion for medicine and problem solving. The summer after, I was chosen in a biomedical engineering research position where I wanted to learn more about the applications of biomedical engineering. A group of six students and me created the first working program that locates a tumor in the body. I also worked as a conference assistant because I wanted to improve my communication and leadership skills as I was able to communicate professionally with other staff through emails, write reports, patrol other residential buildings, and check guests into the buildings. I am now applying my communication skills and scientific knowledge as a tutor.
