Certified Tutor

Hello! I am a 2017 graduate from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors degree in Biology. I am certified to teach Life Sciences 7-12. During the 2017-2018 school year, I taught middle school science, 6th-8th grade at Holy Spirit Catholic School in San Antonio. I then moved to Midland after getting married to my wonderful husband. There I taught 12 weeks of Integrated Physics and Chemistry at Lee Freshman High School. We moved back to San Antonio because of my husband's work. I decided to quit teaching and begin tutoring so I can work part time but stay in education as I carry and then care for our first child who is due at the end of June.

I am passionate about science, especially the life sciences. My favorite topics are hard to choose, but I particularly enjoy Genetics, Nutrition, cellular processes, the digestive system, reproduction (at the cellular level), and human development. Another favorite topic is animal behaviors and adaptations. I love learning about unfamiliar organisms that play important or unthinkable roles in the ecosystem.

Outside of science, I enjoy playing the piano, which I have done since age 5, and singing. I love to knit, sew, cook, and play catch with the baseball. I am a big supporter of extra curricular activities to help students become well rounded and active in a variety of interests.

Tying student interests into their school lessons is important to help them better grasp difficult concepts. This combined with the use of hands on learning and active learning methods define my teaching philosophy. I look forward to assisting your students in becoming successful in their academic pursuits while making learning fun.
