I am a Master's student in Biology at Columbia University. I received my Bachelor's Degree from the University of Michigan in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and also had a focus on writing in my undergraduate studies. Prior to entering graduate school, I worked as a 5th and 6th-grade teacher at a residential science school in Southern California. I then worked as an outdoor educator in Rocky Mountain National Park where I designed and taught classes on biology, natural history, and conservation for students aged 5 to 50 (and everywhere in between!). I also have experience as a math, reading, and writing tutor. I believe in working with each student to find the teaching style that best suits their needs to ensure that each session is engaging and productive. I love getting students excited about learning and seeing them leave a session confident in their abilities!
