In my career to date, I have constantly sought out opportunities which I am passionate about and given them my very best.
Graduating as an engineer, I spent 3 years at a leading Indian technology firm to understand how cross functional teams work together to solve everyday problems for businesses across the globe. While this was a great learning experience right out of college, deep reflections about my life and career aspirations led me to transition into the field of education.
Over the past 3 years, I have gained valuable teaching experience across middle school mathematics and high school computer science across in both US (Boston) and UK (London). These experiences have helped me truly appreciate the sense of fulfilment that comes by working closely with children of all abilities and developing in them a thirst for knowledge fuelling my desire to pursue a longer term career as an educator.
I believe my diverse experiences have helped me develop a strong mix of subject matter expertise, student motivational skills and the ability to take proactive initiatives to deliver results in the classroom. I am highlighting a few of these skills to demonstrate why I am a strong fit for the role:

Subject Matter Expertise: Trained as an engineer, I have completed advanced math and science courses during my undergrad. I have subsequently gone through 'hands-on' teacher training in my roles before taking on lead teacher responsibilities in a London and Boston school. I have passed the WEST-B test for Reading, Writing and Mathematics and the MTEL for Middle school mathematics, communication and literacy.

Ability to motivate and develop deep bonds with my students: Taking on the challenge of designing and teaching a new curriculum to Grade 10 students taking their national level computer science exam in the UK, I was able to deliver strong results with 60% of the class achieving the top 3 grades.

Passionate about leading new initiatives: As co-chair for a student initiative at Harvard Business School, I led recruitment of MBA volunteers to tutor middle school students once a week. As part of this initiative, I designed activities/lessons to increase student interest in math and science. Similarly as a teacher in a London city school, I initiated a weekend computer science program to aid my class complete their Grade 10 projects in a timely and efficient manner.
