I first became familiar with the other side of the teacher/student relationship while tutoring a Japanese student taking an English as a Second Language class. While working with her I discovered the trust the student has with the teacher, and how carefully this trust must be preserved. I also learned to keep myself out of the student's work, in other words the student's work was entirely work of the student.

I like wildlife in all it's forms. I like birdwatching, especially during the migrations times when unusual birds come by for a visit, and I really like when the newly born and newly fledged birds go exploring and some really unusual birds can be seen in the areas where they aren't usually seen. I also like turtles, especially snapping turtles because all of the other critters treat them with such respect.
