Sarah: Crest Hill tutor
Certified Tutor
Having earned an Associate of Science degree in Biological Sciences, I am now in the process of transferring to the University of California, Los Angeles to study Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior. During my studies, I worked part-time for two years as a student instructor and general tutor for mathematics, chemistry, biology, and communications. I have found in that time that no concept is too difficult for a student to understand if they're willing to be creative and take initiative. As your tutor, I can teach you different methods of memorization, how to use visual aids effectively to bring together different concepts and provide you with a different view of topics that you might not see in the classroom. I have also participated in multiple undergraduate research projects and committees, which is why I also strive to give the students I tutor, their own tools to become self-sufficient in their learning process.
Tutoring has become a passion for me because I enjoy the subjects I tutor in, such as math or chemistry. While I love to explain chemistry or biology to the new student, tutoring in math has become a passion because students often view the subject as "hard" or uninteresting subject. I can promise you, it is not!
