Certified Tutor

I am a junior at Wright State University studying Biological Sciences. I intent to go on to pharmacy school, potentially at Ohio State University. I have always enjoyed learning and studying about biology, anatomy, and physiology. Within my university's tutoring program, I have tutored 8-10 students weekly to help better their understanding of material and prepare for exams. My university trained me in how to be an effective tutor and make the most of my tutoring sessions. Sessions will always start with a review of the topic as well as session goals and end with an evaluation of how we are doing to meet the student's goals and wrap up with any final questions or concerns. I always like to make sure my students have a good understanding of concepts on multiple levels; from more complex situations to the overall big picture. I often use figures, diagrams, analogies, and comparisons to help my students better understand a concept. In my spare time I enjoy running and hiking, catching up on favorite TV shows, and spending time with my family.
