I love to read and have always loved reading. This has led to my exceptional proficiency in both reading and writing skills. I've been a trained reading tutor in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) since September 2017. My students' test scores have improved significantly based on my work with them. I am certified for the North Carolina Early Childhood Credential through North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education. Along with this credential and my BA in Music Therapy, I know how to adapt teaching methods to motivate and teach kids. After volunteering with CMS in my son's elementary schools, my son is now a journalism major at a highly regarded university. In addition, my background includes a successful management career at a major corporation. In that role I honed and enjoyed these skills most - training, teaching, coaching and mentoring others. I know how to teach, along with being focused, goal oriented, self-motivated, attentive to detail, and flexible to change when needed. Along with reading and writing poetry in my spare time, I love music (mostly classical and jazz) and traveling. I want to help your child develop a love for reading and writing too!
