I have 5 years of experience in teaching English literature and language. After completing my graduation from Presidency College, Kolkata with an honours degree in English I have done my Masters from Calcutta University, one of the oldest universities in Asia. I have completed the pre-service training and am expecting to obtain the Texas Teaching Certificate in this year.

I have worked as a Senior School English Teacher in an international School and also as a lecturer in an undergraduate college in India. During this tenure, I applied various forms of motivational techniques to keep students engaged while improving classroom discipline. I spent the years after coming to US as freelance editor and pursuing my role as a stay at home mother. I am now confident to take on a dedicated role of a teacher again to exercise my potential to the best.

I believe teachers contribute a lot not only by teaching but also making a difference in the lives of students I feel this to be very rewarding. I am driven towards interacting with students and exchanging in an intense interaction of ideas. I reflect continuously on my practice, performance throughout the day and constantly look for ways to improve. I pride myself on my organizational skills and ability to empathize with students and peers.
