I love tutoring because it gives me a chance to teach the student one-on-one at their own pace in a way that makes sense to the individual learner. My passion is mathematics and I love sharing it with others! My favorite questions are "How does this apply to the real world?" and "Why do I need to know this?". I never want to teach a step by step way to solve a problem but I spend time making sure the student understands WHY we preform each step.
Students need to become critical thinkers, NOT calculators.
I am currently a high school math teacher! This is my 4th year teaching. I have a bachelors degree in mathematics from Winthrop University and over 12 years of experience tutoring students from 3rd - 12th grade! I am a cheerleading coach and love being outside! I have two dogs and six chickens! I would love the opportunity to help your student grow!
