Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Texas Tech University, where I earned both my Bachelor of Arts in English and my Master of Arts in English with a focus in Creative Writing. While a graduate student I taught Composition classes at Texas Tech, as well as working as a tutor in the University Writing Center. I am currently an associate professor of English at Collin College, where I teach both college students and dual credit high school students who are earning college credit. I've spent the past two summers working for Duke University's Talent Identification Program, where I taught Creative Writing to gifted middle school students. I am passionate about tutoring English and writing, and I believe that with the right help anyone can learn to write. I approach tutoring with a philosophy of mutual respect, and help my students learn to organize their ideas and put them on the page with confidence. I spend my free time traveling, volunteering, and haunting the aisles of book stores looking for my new favorite novel.
