As a recent college graduate, I find that education not only serves to enter into a profession, but also to approach the world in a new and clearer way. Through education, one can more deeply understand things he or she previously understood only superficially.
Another part of my educational philosophy is that every academic subject has a valid part to play in the world. Although some subjects more practically fit into the needs of our modern world (e.g. science, business, and math), others remind the world of the importance of the human spirit and the dignity of the human person (e.g. literature, philosophy, history). In fact, I firmly believe that each subject plays its necessary part in the world.
Lastly, my philosophy is strongly centered in the belief that truth can be sought and found wherever it may be. Education is for a reason and the things learned are to serve to find the truth of things so that one may live in a fuller way.
