I have loved learning and teaching mathematics and physics since my high school days. As someone who truly loves both fields, I have frequently been asked by friends and family members to teach them about something they wanted to understand better. I began tutoring formally in high school, where I took part in the honors tutoring program. Once in undergraduate, I instructed as a teaching assistant in mathematics for two of my semesters. I continued to teach in the first year of graduate studies, this time in physics, and frequently helped out in the tutoring center of the physics department for the following year until my research took me elsewhere. My focus on getting my Ph.D. and my current postdoctoral research position has left me with few opportunities for continued teaching, however. I would like to remedy that and return to tutoring as a source of supplemental income and as a means of keeping up my instructional skills. I have a deep understanding of the material used in physics, including both elementary physics concepts and calculus. I would like to impart that knowledge and understanding on students who are looking for supplementary help with these subjects.
