I graduated with degrees in physics and music at the University of Pittsburgh. While a student at Pitt, I studied abroad in Ankara, Turkey. Studying Turkish language and music was a gateway for me to understand more about everything around me. I want my students to have experiences like that, where learning about something seemingly uninteresting opens unexpected doors to exciting new worlds. After I graduated from Pitt, I went to grad school for ethnomusicology at Harvard. Since getting my Ph.D. in 2016, I've been teaching classes on music and culture in colleges in the New England area. Because of my varied academic background, I tutor subjects in math and science as well as music. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy making music, camping, and cooking.
