I have been tutoring in person and online for many years, and have worked in standardized testing as well. There is little more gratifying, to me, than bringing a student to that "Aha!" moment, that point where they break through a barrier in their understanding.

Much of my work with students has been, not so much to give them new information, but to help them see the relationships between the information they already have. Helping them learn how to think critically, how to reason, how to correlate data. You can get endless facts from a book or lecture without gaining understanding. I consider it my job, as a tutor, to bridge that gap.
