Teaching my native language, Mandarin Chinese, has been a great pleasure for me. Its just like a gardener watching over his flowers. I like to help my students to enhance their Chinese proficiency and to develop a firm foundation for their life-long learning. I enjoy every moment to be with my students. It makes me feel young and energetic.

My job as a Chinese teaching instructor has provided me with a great opportunity to exercise my knowledge of foreign language teaching, and thus has exposed me to a variety of students. Through the experience of teaching Mandarin, I have made extensive use of a number of foreign language theories and methodologies in guiding and shaping my instruction. I also understand the importance of using professional knowledge and techniques to develop students Chinese proficiency.

I have worked with a variety of students at the college, high school, middle school and elementary levels. In addition, I have knowledge of individual differences and styles of learners. The Whole language approach is a current effective teaching method with which I am familiar, and which I can also apply to my Chinese teaching. I also developed advanced multimedia skills to support my Chinese language instruction. My varied experience and interests make me an excellent Chinese instructor.
