My name is Xixi (ShiShi), a professional tutor who has been working with students from age 4 up til 18. I have a deep passion for children and helping them succeed. The subjects that I have taught include Mandarin Chinese (all age including adults), middle school math, English, history, and science, and high school history, English, and college preparation.

I graduated from Northwestern University with BA in Asian Studies and Business. I also have a masters degree from University of Santa Monica in Spiritual Psychology. I love learning and teaching. I believe that children should be taught in a way that suits their own learning style. Unfortunately, schools simply lack the resources and time to cater to each student's unique needs. Therefore, it is so important that children have the opportunity to work with a tutor one-on-one to fill in any learning gaps.

My teaching style caters to the student's learning style and personality. I assess each student's aptitude before we begin working together. If a student is visual, we learn more by reading and looking at things. If the student is auditory, then we learn more by listening. Or, if a student is kinesthetic, we learn by doing activities. Therefore, I work according to how he or she would learn best.
