I am starting graduate school to pursue an MFA in fiction, however I would also like to teach and foster a love for writing in other people. Many of my professors have worked hard to help me realize that the difficulty of writing can be overcome with practice and patience. I would like to continue mastering the skill while guiding other people down a similar path, and I think tutoring is an excellent start.
I also have skills beyond writingknowledge of Word and Excel, and a passion for endearing people to technology. Computers and other forms of technology are essential in daily tasks, and writing is no exception. As a tutor, I hope I can not only help people be stronger writers but also be more comfortable with the tools they use to write and work.

Reading is a big interest of mine (current book: 1Q84 by Haruki Murukami). However, I do try to keep interests outside of writing and reading. For example, I enjoy board games especially ones that use narrative to justify major functions of the game (like Betrayal of House on the Hill or Champions of Midgard). I also love horror films, and wrote a thesis during my undergrad on Spanish horror cinema from the 1960s and 1970s. In short: they were awesome, super low-budget, and even politically charged. Theatre, also, holds a close place in my heart. I completed a BFA in theatre and participate in local theatre when I have time. I particularly love a play called The Humans by Stephen Karam and would really love to act in it some day. Though art is a major force in my life, I also draw a lot of influence and inspiration from science and technology. I try to read various tech journals (like Gizmodo) daily and work on personal technical projects to help deepen my understanding of technology.
