Rachel: Chester County tutor
Certified Tutor
Working with students is the most rewarding job that I can imagine. From 2015-2017, I taught 7th grade Math & Science at a public school in New York City. This time teaching affirmed that I love working with students, but also helped me realize that I wanted to able to work with them on a more individual level. That's why I'm so excited to be tutoring with Varsity Tutors! Tutoring means that I get to spend focused time with one student -- I get to identify his or her specific strengths, needs and goals. It is an opportunity to build a relationship with a student and watch him/her grow. My experience teaching coupled with my Masters degree and my heart for learning makes me an energetic, relatable, and dedicated tutor.
Along with academics, I can also teach piano! I have played classical piano all of my life, and was accepted to Belmont University (after an audition) to study classical music for undergrad. Though I ended up switching to a Spanish major and just a music minor, I still love music and love teaching it! I can do beginning piano all the way up through advanced music theory.
