Certified Tutor

I am an Illinois certified English and Language Arts Teacher. I completed my degree in 2011, and have taught in public, private, and Montessori schools in Illinois and North Carolina. My certification is for grades 6 through 12, but this year I was a substitute teacher and tutor for elementary grades.

As a tutor this year, I helped a 5-year-old child go from learning her ABC's to a beginner reading level. I also taught Creative Writing to middle school students based on a curriculum I created around C.S. Lewis' "The Magician's Nephew." My versatility of age groups has helped me to have a solid grasp on both rudimentary and advanced grammar and literature.
