Certified Tutor

I hold two degrees from Iowa State University: a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor's of Science in Physics. I also have six years of teaching experience at Iowa State University including: supplemental instruction, recitation instruction, and summer course instruction both in calculus-based physics and several mathematics courses. I've participated in mathematics and science competitions since middle school and have tutored students in middle school and high school seeking to prepare for the AMC exams. My foremost passion is the Physical Sciences but the majority of my teaching experience has been with Mathematics. Be it for school, a standardized test, or simple curiosity, I delight in building the understanding of mathematical and physical principles. "The greatest joy is the joy of understanding" -Leonardo DaVinci. I now find no greater joy than that of shared understanding. When I am working with students, I seek to help them achieve a mastery of the subject that will stay with them for the rest of their lives and serve as strong foundation for their future intellectual endeavors. I was fortunate to have many fine teachers and appreciate what their talents helped me achieve. Now I seek to live up to that example and impart that same curiosity and thoughtfulness to the students I am fortunate enough to tutor.
