I am a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology. I received my Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Psychology. While in school, I worked in the lab for about two years and as new people came into the lab, I was called upon to teach them and help them with their lab projects. Additionally, I was a teaching assistant for my endocrinology class. I was tasked with asking questions to students to ensure that they understood the various research papers we are assigned. I helped to lead discussions within student groups as a way of gauging student understanding. Since graduation, I worked in some temporary positions before working in a clinical laboratory as a technician. While working in this position, I was able to teach new laboratory technicians about the ways of the lab as well as aseptic laboratory techniques. I was usually called upon for help in guiding new hires when they had questions. I am currently in my second year of medical school and pursuing and MD degree. Although I can tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about the sciences such as Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Neuroscience and Cardiology to name a few. I enjoy the sciences because I have always been a scientist whether it is learning in the lab or in class. I am a believer in getting an education but also believe in having fun while getting it. Learning something new should be fun. I enjoy helping others, more recently my peers, when they have questions about subject matters that they do not understand. I make sure to do what I can to ensure that they understand what is being taught. To do this, I utilize white boards, textbooks, summarized notes, demonstrations and even questions. I even go further and ask them to tell me what they understand about the subject matter after I have explained it to them. This is one way for me to see where they might still be struggling with. In my spare time, I read novels that have some historical thriller storyline. I enjoy playing tennis and basketball, listening to music and watching science or history-based educational television.
