Certified Tutor

I went to school at Portland State University, where I graduated with my bachelor of science in philosophy and liberal arts, with a dance minor, magna cum laude. I graduated with philosophy honors, as well. I then entered as a doctoral student at The University of Connecticut to study philosophy.

I am now working toward my MA in another program for philosophy. At The University of Connecticut, I gained my first teaching experience, and was responsible for four classes throughout the year, where I led discussions for the larger lecture course that the students were taking. For these classes, I reviewed lecture material, and created activities for the students. I also used to tutor writing at Portland State University when I was resident advisor and learning community assistant on campus.

Now, I tutor writing and English, especially. I can also help with philosophy. I can help with preparing and writing college application essays, as well. These are my areas of focus for tutoring. My teaching method is to let the students make their own discoveries. Outside of tutoring and school, I like to read, be active, dance, and love music.
