I am a graduate of the University of Georgia (UGA). I received both my Master of Arts in Mathematics and Science Education and my Bachelor of Science in Biology from UGA. During my Master???s degree, I was able to teach the laboratory component of general biology for non-science majors and anatomy and physiology. Teaching the non-science major biology course enforced my passion for teaching. It was through them that I was able to tutor individual and small groups of students. I tutor science and mathematics, but I enjoy the life sciences the most. With math and science, I believe that tailoring lessons based on the student???s learning style is the most effective method of teaching. For example, some students are visual learners, while others are auditory learners, and even others are kinesthetic learners. Starting with what the student believes is their most effective method of learning allows me to plan lessons with high impact, which I also have the ability to adjust if I believe that there is a more effective way of approaching the lesson. When I am not tutoring or teaching, I enjoy nerding out by playing strategy based board and video games with my friends.
