Certified Tutor

Hello! I am a recent graduate from Belmont University! I majored in Biology with a minor in Chemistry during undergrad. During my time in undergrad, I spent much of it volunteering and conducting research. I will be attending medical school in the fall as I have just finished up with the interview season.

I have always enjoyed tutoring and teaching others from physics to wet lab skills to piano. I first began tutoring a few years ago by teaching piano in my neighborhood, ranging from beginner to intermediate level piano. During undergrad, I continued piano tutoring but I also began to tutor informally in several science classes, such as Biology, Chemistry and Physics (algebra based physics). My favorite subjects to tutor are Math and Biology, hence my major. Math is one of my favorite subjects to tutor (this includes algebra based physics) due to its step by step method to solve most problems. Biology on the other hand is one of my favorite subjects because it teaches how different systems of the body can come together to form something as complex as yourself.

I will be tutoring a range of subjects as my time as a tutor increases. For now, I will be tutoring: Basic math, Basic science, Physics (algebra based, high-school and college), pre-algebra, algebra I/II and Biology.

Soon, I will also tutor for General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Genetics, etc.

My tutoring style consists of walking through problems to make sure you have an understanding of the basics, then giving you a chance to solve them on your own. After that we can focus on compounding those basics into more complex problems. In other words, I really like to get people to learn the subject rather than memorize the material.

Outside of academia, I enjoy playing the piano, weightlifting, seeing movies (comedies, dramas, action), long walks and hiking.
