As an educator, I have and always will be passionate about student success. I believe my role as a teacher and tutor is to help students teach themselves. I want my students to learn to think critically in every way, and to become excellent problem solvers in class, and in life itself.
I am currently in my 5th year as a public school teacher. I have a Bachelors degree in Secondary Education, and a Masters degree in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Kansas. I've taught all levels of high school English in my career, as well as working as an adjunct professor for a local community college, and as a Freshman Volleyball coach.
My absolute FAVORITE subject to teach and tutor is literature. I love to read (any genre), and one of my favorite things to encourage in students is a love of reading and literature. While my love is literature, I truly enjoy teaching and tutoring any area of English (writing, conventions, etc.).
Outside of school, I spend as much time as I can reading and traveling, as well as shopping, seeing movies, catching up on TV shows, and watching my favorite sports teams.
