What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy is catering to a student's needs and interests first and foremost. It is important to build trust and a strong relationship with a student and reaching them by relating to their interests. I always try to keep teaching fun and interesting, yet informative.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I would first try to establish a relationship by introducing myself and getting to know each other. Next, I would ask them what they are struggling with and giving them a test based on that subject to see where they are at. I would also ask them how they learn the best and what methods they are most comfortable with.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
You can help a student become an independent learner by using discussions and asking questions so that they have to figure out the answers themselves.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I would help a student stay motivated by asking them to keep their mind on their overall goal and what they hope to improve in. I try to give them the bigger picture so they can imagine how their lives would be improved if they continued to work hard and stay motivated.
