My name is Calypso, I lived in Paris for many years and I now live in America.
I developed a passion for teaching which I honesty didn't see coming. It started with personal training, then I went into teaching French as well.
My style of teaching is pretty laid back, I believe that to really absorb a language, it needs to be playful and not feel like you are drowning in informations.
I also believe that learning a language is a constant process, I myself have been learning English for 10 years and I can still see myself improve, so I can relate if you are struggling.
One thing I can promise, you will have fun learning with me.

I'd assess your understanding of the language and interests.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Building self-confidence; understanding that learning a new language is an amazing thing and easier than it feels.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Keep the lessons playful.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
Explain in a way that can be understood. Come back to it at a later time.
How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
Practice makes perfect. And Audiobooks are awesome.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Have fun. You'll be amazed how much more you can absorb.
