Certified Tutor

Hello! I am a scientist at heart, but I am comfortable in teaching nearly all academic subjects. I have a BA and MS from the University of Connecticut where I majored in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and minored in English. I spent several years working in various scientific research laboratories throughout University, and worked hard to ultimately publish my work in the Journal of Mammalogy in 2013. I began my teaching career upon entering Graduate school. I first taught biology laboratories at the University of Connecticut, and then went on to teach 6th and 7th grade Science in Hartford, CT one year later. I have recently moved to Sturbridge, MA, where I was hired as a tutor at The Grow School, and have now moved into a permanent substitute teacher position. I also, temporarily, spent two months teaching full-time in a third grade classroom. I am very knowledgeable and passionate about so many of the science fields, but also about teaching and learning. I have found teaching to be immensely rewarding, and I am confident I could help a person of any age to reach their true academic potential. Since my teaching background is diverse, regarding both age ranges and subjects, I have a suite of techniques for individualized learning. I am happy to find out what works best to help you learn!
