Dear Students,
By way of introduction, I am Matt Martello, age 26, residing in Norristown, PA, I was a microbiologist for a few years. I am a part of the Varsity Tutors Platform. My areas of advanced knowledge include Biology, Microbiology, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biochemistry.
I received a B.S. from Kutztown University in 2013, majoring in Biology: Molecular/Micro/Cell, with a dual minor in Mathematics and Biochemistry. I aspire to complete an advanced degree in the future, but I already possess a wide breadth of knowledge. While I can solve very complex math and science problems, I have an innate ability to break these concepts down into very simple steps that any level of student can then grasp.
.
I have been tutoring privately in math, science and chess for two years. I like teaching and helping those not as comfortable with these subjects. All of my students reported increased success in their classes, ability in the subject area and even in their lives as well. I have a love of math and science that I apply in my everyday life and I am dedicated to helping my students achieve success in their areas of interest or need. My strengths include great patience and creating an environment where any student is comfortable to take the risks associated with learning. I want them to feel comfortable and encourage them to ask questions while gaining an increasing confidence and mastery of the subject matter. I will go above and beyond to make sure that all of my students will succeed.
As for my hobbies, I like to play sports, exercise, enjoy music, travel, play board games/video games, explore new things, reading books, studying new things. I look forward to meeting up with you and helping you go above and beyond in your respective subjects.
Sincerely,
Matt Martello

What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy is to always be patient with each student. Take it step-by-step with each student. It doesn't matter if my student asks me the same question 5, 10, 100, or one million times. I will give them the same instruction with passion until they understand the material.
