I love helping others, and tutoring is one way I can do that. I love identifying the strength and weakness in the student's base, and help him/her improve rapidly. I love motivating and building the student's confidence.

Knowing that I enjoyed Math and Physics, I pursued an engineering major. I graduated in Civil Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2011. I work as an engineer full time, and I do tutoring on a part time basis.

I would be a great fit for students who want to work together on a regular basis and build their foundation for majoring in the Engineering and Science fields. However, I do welcome those who are simply looking for short term help.

What is your teaching philosophy?

All students can understand something if presented to them in a manner that best fits their way of thinking. Identifying the student's strengths and weaknesses are critical for successful teaching. Complementing, encouraging, advising, and motivating the student are critical skills to maintain strengths and improve weaknesses.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

I would encourage the student to read his textbook or watch free videos on the subject and learn as much as possible. After putting some self effort, bring questions to the teacher or tutor. Putting some self effort will help to understand what the tutor explains more easily. I would share about methods such as the SQ3R which help in independent efforts.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

By advising him to set a goal and stay focused on his goal. I would share my personal experiences that would motivate the student not to take for granted the great opportunities that are available for him. I would encourage the student that anything is possible as long as one believes in himself and puts the necessary hard work into it.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

I would explain the concept as many times as necessary. I would try to use different resources that apply different methods of explaining a concept. I would make sure to compliment and encourage the student on his continued effort and that he will eventually get it. I would remind him that practice makes perfect.

What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?

I would ask the student to solve questions that can only be solved if he truly understood the material.
