I am a mathematician whose main passion is illuminating, engaging, patient, and above all highly effective teaching.
I am currently a Visiting Lecturer at Wellesley College (since Fall 2013), with a prior two-year Visiting Assistant Professorship at the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. I received my PhD from the Courant Institute at NYU in 2011 and my BA from Yale in 2005.
During my seven years of college instructorship (particularly in single and multivariable calculus) and three years of tutoring experience (SAT and GRE subject tests, as well as high school algebra and geometry), I have developed a unique style that leaves my students from a variety of backgrounds and abilities not only as vastly improved problem solvers, intuitive reasoners, and logical thinkers,but also with a deep appreciation for math's deep beauty and significance.
Outside of teaching I love hiking, running, and listening to music of all types.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I love teaching math and seeing my students thrive -- in their problem solving and logical reasoning, and especially when they understand "what's really going on". To achieve this, I believe in a careful and patient approach that begins with simple examples that emphasize the intuition behind mathematical ideas, so that students have a solid foundation from which further depth and harder examples naturally follow.
