Hi! I'm Emily Doscher, an Inwood-based, NYS certified English Language Arts and English as a New Language teacher with over 8 years of experience providing high-quality instruction for students in grades K-12, as well as adult ENL learners.
As a teacher and tutor, I aim to meet students where they are and to provide individualized instruction to help them to achieve their academic and personal goals. I believe that a good teacher must be responsive and reflective. Besides providing my professional expertise in tutoring sessions, I also make it a point in my practice to have check-in conversations with students about how they think they are progressing and what strategies seem to be working best for them. I enjoy the art and science of teaching and strive to provide a research-based, creative curriculum to best ensure student engagement and success.
