I believe that any student can achieve their goal with hard work and dedication. Too often in school it is easy for us become frustrated. The obstacles we face can seem insurmountable and the progress we are making nonexistent. However, if we apply ourselves with vigor we are always learning more than we know and making better progress than we suspect. Each student has it within themselves to succeed.
I am a PhD student in Politics at the University of Virginia. I came to graduate school because of love of learning and teaching. Learning and teaching are really two sides of the same coin. To learn something new and not to impart it to anyone is empty, while teaching without learning is meaningless. Before I started graduate school I taught English and related subjects to college students in China for five years. Living and working abroad, as well as teaching abroad, was an amazing experience which helped me learn how to deal with a wide variety of situations. I hope that we can work together to realize your educational goals.
