Ever wonder about why we are here, how we came to be, or where we are going? If your answer to any of these questions is yes, then you are interested in science! Scientists actively look for answers to life's biggest (and sometimes smallest) questions. However, due to the complex nature of life, the knowledge required to answer these questions can sometimes be difficult to understand. As a conservation biologist who has experience as an educator in zoos and aquariums, I have a unique perspective--and ample enthusiasm-- to teach and engage students in the background knowledge required to answer these questions.

What is your teaching philosophy?
Learning should be fun and exploratory. I believe teaching should reflect this in its methods.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In a typical first session with a student, I would first discuss the syllabus for the class and where the student has experienced difficulties. I will then ask the student a little bit about his/herself to learn more about how best they can learn.
