Certified Tutor
I graduated from Northeastern University in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Now, I work full-time at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as a Research Technician, working in the Cancer Biology department. I enjoy science research in that it involves a lot of learning and can also be used to help others! In a few years, I hope to pursue a higher level degree, such as my PhD, or change directions altogether and become a veterinarian or a surgeon Well see where the wind takes me!
Ive been tutoring with Varsity Tutors for almost a year and have loved meeting students from all over Boston and helping them with SAT preparation or science class. Its a very rewarding feeling when students achieve their goals because of your help. This feeling, and the growth of confidence Ive seen in my students after our sessions, has led me to keep tutoring in my life post-graduation!
If you need help with specific subject matter, or just need a friendly face to work through problems with, I'm here to help! I look forward to meeting you!

What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy is that students work best with a relatable tutor, so they can feel comfortable expressing their problems and concerns with the material.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Introduce myself and ask the student to introduce themselves! Knowing more about them would help me teach toward their own personal learning styles.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Encouragement and motivation!
