Amber: Santa Fe tutor
Certified Tutor
I'm currently in school for secondary education and when I'm not working on these honor courses, I'm writing fiction and reading different things. I love being in my classes and I'm looking forward to tutoring students in my favorite subjects. The love of my life is English and grammar. I think that life is about being in tune with your art, style and brand. Yes, your personal brand! Art is something I am passionate about seeing but I also love theater and the performing arts. I like to live my life as best that I can regardless of anything going on in my life. Be strong and be yourself, because other people are boring. I hope we cultivate a strong relationship and I'm looking forward to tutoring you in your need.

What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy is that anyone can learn and that the teacher is responsible for that child's future.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I'll like to spend 10-15 minutes getting to know the student and who they are as a person. Learning their learning style will make all our sessions run easier.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Helping students to become independent learners is easy! You teach and guide them to distinguish the right answers on their own.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Helping a student stay focused can be hard, but helping a frustrated student can be even harder. Doing so to help them is the step. Make sure they're comfortable, and let them know your failures and struggles and tell them their strengths.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I would make it fun for them and break it down. I'd make a game out of learning these new subjects, and find a way to relate the subject in a way that's personal for the student.
