I am a graduate of The University at Buffalo. I received my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural and Geotechnical design. I currently work as a Structural Design Engineer which makes math part of my daily life. I worked as a Math and Physics tutor at the Westchester Community College for about a year and a half and I have gained a lot of experience working there. My main focus is to get the students interested in the subject they’re studying which makes learning the material a lot more efficient. My philosophy is to keep the students motivated and help them develop critical thinking skills by using as many real life examples as possible. I spend most of my spare time reading, hiking, swimming and playing basketball.

What is your teaching philosophy?
Getting students interested in the subjects they're studying. I achieve that by using real life examples to challenge the students and help them relate to the problems being solved on paper.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Try to get familiar with the student's strengths and weaknesses. Pointing out the student's strengths to them can help give them the confidence and belief needed to work on diminishing the weaknesses.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
By helping the student to develop critical thinking skills.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
By showing them how essential the subject being studied is in specific real life aspects. This can also be achieved by giving the student examples of hard work paying off.
