I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Florida State University with a Major in International Affairs, and a minor in English Literature in May 2015. Throughout my undergraduate career I volunteered tutoring children in the Tallahassee area, and taught English in Nepal and Cambodia during my summers off. I am looking forward to moving to Phnom Penh, Cambodia in the near future to continue my love of teaching. In the long term I plan to get my Masters in International Conflict Resolution and move to Washington D.C. so I can work to enact laws that protect vulnerable communities in developing countries.
My favorite subjects are AP Comparative Government and Politics, and Literature, and I love to help students craft and polish essays and papers.

What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy focuses on making the information relevant and interesting to the student, and communicating the information in a way that the student can easily grasp it.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
With a first student session, I like to get to know them a little before we start on the subjects. Knowing a student's interests, strengths, and motivations is key to presenting them with the information in a way that they will understand it.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
To help a student become an independent learner, first you must teach them basic organizational and study skills so they can have the ability to succeed by themselves. Once you equip them with these skills, you can let them take the lead, see the direction they take their own study time, and then make adjustments accordingly.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
To keep a student motivated, I make sure to compliment their strengths to keep up their confidence.
