Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Hilo with a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese Studies covering the aspects of Japanese language in the areas of speaking, reading and writing as well as culture and literature. In the near future, I plan to obtain my Masters of Science in speech language pathology. My past tutoring experience includes one year tutoring at the University of Hawaii's learning center where I tutored English to college age and adult students as well as being a reading tutor where I tutored, assigned and assessed reading tests. I believe tutoring should not just be a time where answers are just given out, but and ideas sharing process where we can work together to achieve the best work possible. I also understand that school work can be challenging, and very stressful at times, so I make it a point during sessions to be very patient and let one work at their own pace. I personally enjoy language tutoring the most because I find it very exciting discovering the fun and technical aspects of language. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy dancing, my favorite areas being ballet and modern, and listening to music.
