Certified Tutor

I have been in the field of education since 2001. For eight of the last fourteen years, I have taught language arts, reading, and writing to high school and middle school students in both Ohio and Virginia. I am currently a highly qualified reading and language arts teacher for grades 4-9 in Ohio. More recently, I have shifted to the college level teaching various courses in both traditional and distance learning classrooms. My experience teaching at the college level includes courses in college reading, writing and English, and study skills. I received my Bachelor's in Education from Kent State University and my Master of Arts in English from Youngstown State University. In addition to my teaching responsibilities, my past also includes one-on-one tutoring for students in both reading, literature, language arts, and writing for remediation, standardized test preparation, and enrichment. Within a tutoring session, my students will become immersed in the subject(s) we are studying, and we will focus on the tasks at hand and practice by using a variety of approaches to learn and master the material. Teaching is my passion, as I love to see my students succeed and become life-long learners. Outside of teaching and tutoring, I love to exercise, read, and do anything crafty.
