Certified Tutor
I am a senior at George Washington University working toward a Bachelor's of Science in Applied Mathematics with a second major in Computer Science. I'm currently taking a semester off to research what I hope to be the topic of my senior thesis. I tutored elementary school students in math just outside of Washington, D.C. for a year and worked as a private tutor for a family in Seoul, South Korea when I studied abroad. In the latter experience I tutored the mother in English and her ten-year-old in math. While I feel comfortable teaching quite a few subjects, I am certainly most passionate about math and science. It is greatly rewarding to help a student overcome a math-phobia and see them become genuinely interested in the subject after they gain some well-earned confidence. Although my main experience is tutoring younger children, I am very excited to begin tutoring older students in subjects like Algebra 2 and Calculus. Endless possibilities have been opened for me through a good education, and I want to help students get the most out of theirs with tutoring that I hope to be fun and effective. In my spare time I love to read, play soccer, go to the gym, and do some leisurely computer programming (it's my yoga).
