As a Senior English teacher, teaching both regular track and co-taught classes at Muchin College Prep the past two years, I have had the opportunity to create not only a curriculum, but also co-create a Senior Capstone Project for Muchins first graduating class. This Senior Capstone Project is one that myself and the other senior English teacher led professional development workshops on for other Noble teachers this past fall to ensure the entire network is working towards meaningful senior goals for our students. These experiences have prepared me to integrate action research, a variety of texts, authentic assessments and intensive writing, all within the foundational context of a year that creates students who are not just observers but avid questioners of the world around them. I know that this experience would enable me to be an understanding and knowledgeable tutor.
